Enjoying an apple each day can give you a daily dose of with vitamins, minerals, fiber, phytonutrients antioxidants, along with a delicious taste!  While it’s hard to beat biting into a crisp apple, it’s far from the only way to enjoy this super fruit. Consider these seven tasty and creative ways to incorporate an apple into each day.

  1.  Create a super smoothie. Apple blends together beautifully with ingredients like almonds, bananas, and cinnamon to create a refreshing and filling smoothie anytime of the day.
  2. Make a delightful dessert. Core and bake an apple in the oven for a hearty dessert that is reminiscent of apple pie (but without all the bad stuff!). You can fill the center with nuts, cinnamon and/or oats for added flavor if desired.
  3.  Enhance Muffins and Quick Breads. Add diced apples into your favorite muffin or quick bread recipe for added sweetness and added moisture.
  4. Improve Typically Store Bought Snacks. You’ll be surprised how simple it is to cook and puree apples to make into snacks you typically pick up off store shelves. Use apples to make your own fruit leathers and apple sauce. You’ll get all the taste and none of the added sugars or preservatives!
  5. Apples3 Satisfy a Crunchy Craving. Rather than adding croutons (full of refined flour!) for crunch, add diced apples to add crunch to your salad. Diced apples can also give a bowl of oatmeal a satisfying crunch.
